So, today I was reading National Geographic and I found an interesting story for you guys, It was about a couple of tourists who spotted a an unusual leopard, instead of a tanned coat with black spots it had a light coat with light brown spots, which is why they called it a Strawberry leopard. Here's a photo I made with my sister on Picnik to show you the difference.
And then a photographer and safari guide called Deon De Villiers sent a photo to a
cat-conservation group in America The presedent of the group said that he thinks that the leopard has erythrism. Erythrism is a genetic condition that's not well understood they think it either produces too much of red pigments or to little of dark pigments. I have never herd of it before. Maybe It will turn out to be a famous leopard? There are lots of species of leopards and also in 2007 a new species was discovered, called the The Bornean Clouded Leopard. These are what they look like:
Hopefully there will be more discovered but its very sad to see that some are going extinct like the Amur Leopard, which are gorgeous. The baby Amur leopard in this picture is adorable. But gladly the World Wide Fund is trying really hard to help them. When I get older I would really like to work for WWF. Love, Precious xoxo
